District News & City Council Updates
Post-Fiesta Cleanup
We hope our community enjoyed a wonderful Fiesta celebration! The DSBIA maintenance team is actively cleaning downtown following the festivities, and this work will continue over the next several weeks.
Pressure washing of the closed portion of State Street will begin Thursday, August 20, and continue one block per day until complete. Storm drains will remain covered throughout the cleaning process. In September, we will also refresh the mulch in landscaped areas throughout the district.
To request spot cleaning within the district, text the Maintenance Hotline at 805-242-1311 and include:

State Street Master Plan
Looking ahead, the State Street Master Plan is expected to return to City Council on September 1 for review and potential adoption. Help DSBIA ensure the design for state street is truly flexible, accessible to all and supports the needs of our diverse business district year round by sharing your views with city council in advance of the meeting.

Flag Program
This Week's Flag
The Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation is excited to be part of the State Street Flags program and to support the Downtown Santa Barbara Improvement Association. As a non‑profit venue turning live music into community impact, they are proud to spotlight our year‑round greening efforts and their commitment to enriching the youth of Santa Barbara County.
Our Clean & Safe Program continues to make a visible impact downtown. Our team is out daily, keeping the streets clean, welcoming, and well-maintained, to help create clearly defined, comfortable, and safe spaces for the community. These efforts not only improve the appearance of our public spaces but also enhance overall safety and the experience for everyone who visits, works, or lives downtown.
