AIASB October General Meeting 

Join AIA Santa Barbara for the October General Meeting featuring Stefanos Polyzoides on October 29 at 4:00 PM at SOhO. The discussion will explore the State Street Master Plan, the design principles and planning strategies that shaped it, and its vision for the future of downtown Santa Barbara.

Downtown Kickin' Country Line Dancing

Join us every Wednesday in October in front of Best BBQ and Apna Indian Kitchen at 716 State Street and enjoy free country line dancing lessons led by the amazing Christy Grant from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by open dancing from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

The Muse Groundbreaking & Reception

The Music Academy of the West and the Downtown Santa Barbara Improvement Association (DSBIA) invite the community for a ceremonial groundbreaking marking an exciting new chapter for arts education and performance in downtown Santa Barbara. The event will take place on Thursday, October 15, at 5:00 PM at 901 State Street, the future home of the Music Academy's Music Education Center, The Muse.

Upcycle Couture

Join the Community Arts Workshop on Friday, October 16, at 7:00 PM for Upcycle Couture, a fashion show fundraiser supporting the programs of the Santa Barbara Arts Collaborative. Seven design teams will showcase brand-new looks created entirely from recycled and upcycled materials. Each team, made up of local artists, will present three looks, each featuring a unique take on sustainable fashion.

Help Light Up Downtown with Unite to Light

This First Thursday, November 5th, Santa Barbara-based nonprofit Unite to Light is bringing The Power of Possibility to downtown Santa Barbara — a free evening of light, art, music, and community at the San Marcos Courtyard on State Street, from 5:00–8:00 PM.

As they celebrate 15 years of getting solar lights and chargers to people living without reliable electricity around the world, they're inviting local downtown businesses to join them as Community Partners and help spread the light throughout State Street. Participating businesses will receive a Unite to Light solar lantern and small window sign to display in their storefront in the weeks leading up to November 5th, along with event information for customers.

Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara has inspired girls to be strong, smart, and bold since 1958. Each year, the organization serves over 1,000 local girls in grades K–12, helping them develop the education and life skills they need to lead healthy, educated, and independent lives as engaged members of their communities.

Our Clean & Safe Program continues to make a visible impact downtown. Our team is out daily, keeping the streets clean, welcoming, and well-maintained, to help create clearly defined, comfortable, and safe spaces for the community. These efforts not only improve the appearance of our public spaces but also enhance overall safety and the experience for everyone who visits, works, or lives downtown.
